For the 2026 edition, the Giro d’Italia, after its opening stages in Bulgaria, returns to Italy starting again from Calabria, the star of a route filled with excitement, entertainment, and public participation.
From Catanzaro to Cosenza, before setting off again from Praia a Mare, the pink race will pass through some of the region’s most iconic locations. The stages will become opportunities for gathering and participation, combining sport, entertainment, and territorial promotion, involving residents, visitors, and cycling enthusiasts in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and deep passion for cycling.
The Port of Catanzaro Lido will become the heart of the event thanks to the opening of the Green Fun Village / Giroland, a space dedicated to residents, families, and fans, where everyone can experience the Giro in a festive atmosphere just steps away from the sea.
In Cosenza, the stage finish will bring excitement and participation to the heart of the city, which will come alive with the warmth of the crowd and the thrill of the competition.
At the same time as the pink race, Amantea will host the start of the Giro-E Enel, the event dedicated to sustainable mobility that accompanies the Giro d’Italia with its e-bikes. The route will cross Calabria all the way to Cosenza, welcomed by an atmosphere of celebration and strong public participation.
On Wednesday, May 13, Praia a Mare and the Riviera dei Cedri will once again take center stage for another day of great cycling, surrounded by the sea, spectacular landscapes, and all the passion that accompanies the Giro d’Italia.
The passage of the Giro therefore represents not only a major sporting event, but also an important opportunity to promote and enhance Calabria, its territories, and its identity.
